Do you know one or all of these Young Men?

Do you go to school with them?

Are you on the same football team?

Or maybe it was wrestling!

Could it be from the golf team?

Do you run track with one of them?

Is your locker in high school next to one of them?

Do you know one's favorite song?

You really should remember them!

I DO!

You see, I knew all three of them.
They were classmates, athletes, students, sons,
brothers, and most of all to me, friends!

In one night, in one car, their lives were taken in a tragic car accident. It is so sad if you didn't know them before that night because they each were their own unique person and blessings to many people. Three friends out for a snack before going home to studies, rest, families..... Gone forever threw no fault of their own. A stranger, in another vehicle, in another life, another world took them from us.

Were you driving the vehicle that took Chuck, Dave, and John from us? Was it your fault that instead of celebrating my 17th birthday with friends I sat in my room listening to the same song over and over?

Where were my 3 friends?

Laying in the funeral home!!!

Have you ever driven while under the influence of alcohol or drugs? Have you ever driven when you knew you hadn't had enough sleep? Have you ever been behind the wheel but paying more attention to something else instead of the road?

If you answered yes to any of these then it just
might have been
YOU who took these young lives.

My prayers for you are that you have asked God's forgiveness for what you did, that you have accepted Christ as your savior, that you are living for The Lord now. Because that is the only way you will have the opportunity to someday meet
Chuck, Dave, and John!

*** John's writing is from my 1970 Aeneid

John never got to graduate with us in 1973 although he was there in many of us's hearts. His idea of "trouble" was messing up my locker combination everytime he walked by - but then he would always open it for me. For almost 3 years we had lockers next to each other and it was a yearly game to see how long it would take for him to figure out my combination. After that I didn't have to remember it myself because he was always there to lend a helping hand.
It wasn't until the following Monday that I realized I didn't know my combination, I had to go to the office and ask them what it was.

Did you know the song, the one's favorite song?
"Bridge Over Troubled Water"

I would like to thank Kathy a friend, neighbor,
and classmate who sent me the above card 29 years after John's death.
I now keep it safe in my bible.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
