In Memory of My Departed Keyboard
**Disclaimer:
Please understand the following is not intended
to make light of or poke fun at "death"
it is however and excellent example of how God
often uses our personal tragedies to help others in need.
Letter
Mailed to all Friends and Family A.M. August 21,
2000
Good
morning and God bless everyone. Not sure on this
one, either Satan is attempting to slow me down
again or God is saying "Faith take a
break". Either way - my keyboard is dead,
funeral services will be at noon, it will be
layed to rest on the hill out back on the edge of
the woods next to Vegas (old english sheep dog),
Smokie (cat) and numerous fish, hamsters, and
birds. He has left behind mouse, monitor, pc,
scanner, printer and me, we will all miss him
dearly. He served us well over the past year and
a half and his time has come due to carelessness
of others - OK, I did it, lesson to be learned
when your hands are weak don't pick up a 16oz
diet pepsi right next to your keyboard,
the too don't mix.
Due however to the "death" in the
family my letters will be few and brief. I
attempted doing copy and past from received
letters yesterday,, which entertained a few but
confused others :) Can't keep me quiet for long
though, pulled out the dinasaur as we call it, 20
year old pc doesn't even have a modem and is
running Windows 3.11 kinda :( Typing on it, copy
to disc, then upload to the new computer. Very
time consuming so am sure you will understand.
If anyone has questions it would be great help if
you included choices of possible answers in your
letters - can copy and paste that way. No spell
checker on this system so am doing the best I can
on that matter.
Blessings to all and please keep those letters
coming -
I can still read just fine :)
love, hugs, kisses, prayers, and blessings
(please take what ever you need, would like, or
is appropriate)
faith
Words to
remember: God's love and power is always there
for us, it is what we do with them that matters.
A smile given is a smile returned, love given is
love returned, prayers given are prayers
answered. Satan may try to bring us down but God
keeps us strong.

Letters
Received from Friends and Family
Please note I have
highlighted in RED
what were plus's in my eyes
stemming from the death of my keyboard
Faith, your obituary was just so clever.
I hope you shan't be in mourning for too terribly
long.
You have my deepest sympathy.
Hugs,
Hi Faith,
I love your sense of humor!
That was cute...what
you said,
not that your keyboard don't work :)
P.S. I'm not sure if this offer is still
available or not but they were
giving out free
keyboards, http://www.swiftboard.com
I know you won't be able to use it now but if you
ordered it at least you will have a back up :)
You don't
have to respond. I just
thought you would like to
know that you really have me laughing!
The death of your
keyboard got a chuckle
out of me now this message really has me laughing.
I am glad my six year old is not old enough to
have me committed
to a mental institution! lol.
Thanks
for the laugh
so early today! :)

Dear Faith
I got a really good
giggle
over your obtuary for your keyboard! You are a treasure.
I am a new member to LHLS, and am enjoying
it immensely.
I love
all the e-mails, they are so encouraging.
Looking
forward to getting to
know all of you better
Your
sister in Christ
LOL
Faith. You are sooo funny
and just when I needed
to laugh!
I will tell you that a bottled water
doesn't mix with the keyboard either...been there and
done that one. :) I
didn't have an old puter to use
either...I was just stuck without one.
I will bow
my head in silence at the time of the funeral. :)
Good advice:
Don't
wrestle with a pig. You just get dirty and the
pig likes it!!!!!
As you know, I need things these days that are light
and cheerful
and will
make me laugh.
You get first
prize for this one. In
sympathy of the loss of
your beloved,
I have attached my contribution
to the funeral and wake.
Love,
Ma,
If your keyboard problem
is one of the keyboard having a big plug and
the new computer having a small one, you should
be able to get
an adapter
for it pretty
cheap. Can be found at
Radio Shack, Office Max, etc..
Let me know how it goes.
Love,
Shannon
(that's my
son - such a level head, sure he didn't get it
from me)
Faith I am so happy
that you were able to bring your keyboard back to
life.
This morning when you sent us the email about
your keyboard, I
was so impressed
at your eulogy, but I was rolling with
laughter...Sorry!!! But
you are right about stop saying why me Lord
and
just pray
about it and look to God
for the answers. Thats what we had
to do when we took this trip to Mississippi with
the truck and camper
and not knowing whether or not we would make it,
but PTL,
He didn't let
us down and I had faith
the whole way and never worried about it.
Looked at such beautiful
country and gazed at God's beautiful creation.``
That to me was better than worrying about it.
Oh, Faith!
Please accept my sincere condolences
and sympathies
on your most recent loss. I must applaud
determination
to go on with your internet
life. Your ingenuity
astounds
me. *giggle*
I can tell we will get along just fine!
God bless
you! And I will pray that
you will find new
keyboards
around the bend for less than $20.
Love and
Hugs,

LOL
Ohh Faith you are so cute
I just love this letter about
your key board hehehehe
your a so funny....
I have done the same thing I spilled a whole cup
of ...
hummm OHh yes it was a drink of grapfruit and
vodka and thats back when I was drinking ...
I dont drink anymore. Praise the Lord..huggzz
Hi Faith, your letter made my day
!! laugh*
I feel a real urge to send flowers
or something. smile*
I took all your blessings
too. smile*
*
You poor dear! I'm laughing
and crying for you at the same time!
Maybe check at some garage sales
. . .
a lot of folks are turning in their straight
keyboards for the new
curved
"natural" ones, and you might be able
to pick one up.
Also maybe call some of the companies around you,
perhaps they are upgrading . . . used ones work
. . . .
Added
note from me: Looking at the response and amount
of RED in the
above letters I see no doubt at all that the
death of my keyboard was in
reality a blessing from God. When looked at in a
different "color" you can
often find GOOD where you may otherwise only see
bad.

Update
Letter from Me
Just wanted to drop
everyone a line and let you know that this girl
is rocking and rolling again. Bless his heart my
son in the Air Force emailed this morning, Ma you
can get an adapter really cheap and use the old
keyboard. $6 and although it's kinda like driving
a Cadillac on a dirt road at least PTL I can
answer letters without it taking and hour per
message :)
I would like to thank all who sent their sympathy
over the loss of the old keyboard and would like
to share something I learned (besides the not
having diet pepsi around electrical equipment).
So often in my life I have run across obstacles,
I've thought "God why me" or "I
can't take any more". With an attitude like
that I made little progress towards
"fixing" the problem which in most
cases only made matters worse. In taking the
attitude I did today, some would say
"joking" about the death of my
keyboard, I was able I found to make many others
laugh, in doing that I felt good, felt that even
though not doing as normal I was still able to
help others. And also found that there are people
all over the world willing to help - had offers
of money, keyboards, suggestions, and
encouragement. These are very important things to
remember - your life may not seem to be what you
want but always remember that God knows best and
may have other plans for you, keep your chin up,
a smile on your face and the world will smile
back, and last but not least a strong Christian
belief can get you threw anything.
blessings to all, needless to say I have a
zillion letters to catch up on,
faith
