Welcome To Michigan
Page 4 Pictorial Tour

Crossing the Mackinac Bridge takes us to the Upper peninsula, almost a world of its own you can enjoy Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, the locks at Sault Sainte Marie, Miners Castle , Chapel Creek.

Tahquamenon Falls includes one of the largest falls in the eastern United States. The Upper Falls are about 200 feet wide and 40 feet high. The Lower Falls are made up of a series of rapids and cascades divided by an island. The Tahquamenon River is also known as the Dark River or the Golden River. It plays an important part in Longfellow's poem, The Song of Hiawatha.

Crossing back over the bridge and heading down the east side of Michigan you will enjoy many views such as the farm lands Michigan has to offer, the AuSable River, Frankenmuth, the Firestone Farmhouse, and eventually come to Detroit, Michigan's largest city. Detroit is also where you will find the bridge connecting the United States with Canada - note the two countries flags on the bridge.

A trip to Michigan isn't complete without a visit to Greenfield Village, a collection of historic buildings from around the United States established by Henry Ford. See such sites as Grimm Jewelry Store on Main Street, the birth house of Henry Ford, and the Statue of Thomas Edison.
