If you don't know what a search engine is, that's where people type in a little box something they are looking for. A little program called a "spider" goes out on the internet and looks for that word. If your site is not listed with the search engine being used to search - guess what, they won't find your site. If you are really serious about getting your site or page found see instructions below for "meta tags" this is what the spiders read.
Business and other sites (I think you know what I mean) have been using these tools for years - lets get these glorious Christian sites and the word of the Lord out for the world to see. It's time now for Christians to take over and flood the Internet!


Meta Tags

Meta Tags are viewed by search engines in order to determine when your site should show up during a search. Use meta tags to pack your page with information pertaining to the category under which your page fits. For instance if your page is promoting a travel agency you may want to incorporate words like luggage, travel, plane, beach, tourists, etc.
Below is a sample Meta Tag, feel free to use this on your site but it is very important that you insert your site information in the spots marked in red.
The Meta Tag goes between the <head> and </head> which will be at the top of your page (I normally insert the tag just above my sound code). To use this as a sample simply highlight the code below, copy and paste it to note pad or word program and then make adjustments to suit your page. When that's finished copy and paste your new Meta Tag into the html of your page.

<meta name="DESCRIPTION" content="Tell the world what they can find on your site briefly in sentence form. Example: At By Faith Only we offer Christian music, bible studies, and inspiration from The Bible, also home buisness opportunities, free graphics, and christian chat, all to glorify Jesus Christ.">
<meta name="KEYWORDS" content="These are words on your page that people might search for you can use up to 1000 characters. Example: web ring, christian, inspiration, fellowship, God, Jesus, ministry, ministries, family, work at home, business, opportunities, salvation, music, free graphics, pictures, stories, scripture, bible, jesus, god, christ, ministry, christianity, religion, ">

Added note: in the above Meta Tag there is also added this line
<meta name="MSSmartTagsPreventParsing" content="TRUE">
Simply explained, this code stops others from stealing visitors to your page. There is a new program out that when people using this system visit sites keywords that paid advertisers use are highlighted and hyperlinked to that advertisors site :( I encourage everyone who has a Christian web site to insert this code if nothing else in the heading of your pages. Without it you could be sending to some very unacceptable non-christian web sites.
