Sky's first day with us!
Shane and I made the hour and a half drive to
Sue's house. That in itself was a treat, meeting
a sister in Christ whom we've known for something
like 2 years via the internet but never met in
person before. We had a great visit with Sue, her
husband Roger, daughter Kim and 3 grandchildren.
LOL as well as Sue's pets :) Lunch in the dinning
room over looking the back yard was wonderful -
beautiful sunny day in the country was a joy for
me. Learned some about wild birds, had my
favorite strawberry short-cake for desert, and
spent time getting familure with Sky - or her
getting familure with us :)
Time flew by and it's hard to believe we were
there nearly 3 hours. On the drive home Shane and
Sky napped in the back set half the way, PTL
quiet time for "Mom". I look forward to
visiting with Sue and Roger again before the
summer ends and am thrilled to finally meet one
of my dear sisters in real life. And didn't have
to wait for the rapture to do it.
Sky is doing tremendously, ate and drank her
first night home, ran crazy jumping on anything
that moved or didn't, knows where her litter box
is already, and seems happy in her new home. We
sure do love her, Shane said so a dozen or more
times this morning already :) She has found 2
hidding places, one under the love seat where
Shane normally sits - easy for her to attack his
feet when the urge hits. And on the book shelf
just behind my desk chair, makes it easy for me
to reach back and pet her and she thinks no one
can see her.
Oh, she did meet my daughter-in-law, Christina,
yesterday evening - who also fell in love with
her. Today she'll meet Shawn, Austin (my
grandson), and Kennedy (my grand daughter).
Austin will love her too I'm sure - Shane is
working on getting her to not bite and scratch so
much for Austin's sake (he's not yet 3). When she
goes to bit his hand he holds it in front of her
face flat handed and says "NO" firmly.
Drove me crazy for an hour but do think she's
learned already, or at least Shane thinks so he
was proud to announce the last two times she
didn't "attack" him instead licked and
batted with claws pulled in :)
Special thanks to Kim for carring for Sky while
waiting for us to come get her, Sue for
introducing us to Sky, and for all the brothers
and sisters who prayed for her recovery. Shane
and I both have for over 2 years wanted a cat of
our own and with the Lords help we now have a
very special new member of our family.

June 28 Update:
Sky is doing spectacular - have had to make a
couple adjustments in our lives. I now have to
double knot my tennis shoes, as Sky likes to play
with my laces while I'm working at the computer.
This in turn ends up with them untied and when I
go to get up "trip". She also seems to
think she's a tree frog or something and jumps
from the bookshelf behind me claws out to my
back, ouch! Curled up purring on my lap as I type
this now though :) Shane being off school for the
summer would prefer to sleep till 9 or 10 but she
doesn't allow that - gets bored with my attention
and finds her way to his room. Yesterday he woke
with a kitten nibbling on his ear :)
