Please keep Sky in your prayers!

Hello, This is Sky! On Friday June 1st, 2002 I first heard of this darling kitten. Actually I was shown this picture to the left before I heard anything of her. I'm not sure of all the details but will share them as I get them straight. What I do know is a dear sister in Christ, Sue, sent me this picture the second I saw it I feel in love. How could I not, she's such a darling. Well Sue told me she was going to need a home but that she may not live. It seems she was attacked by a dog and injured pretty badly. Sky, who at this point did not have the name Sky, is about 4 weeks old and Sue's daughter Kim is caring for her. Feeding her with an eye dropper, formula with antibotics in it.
When I showed my son Shane this same picture a few minutes later he said the same thing I did, "I want her!" That was enough for me, I instantly messaged Sue and told her we wanted the kitten and at the same time Shane named her "Sky" because of the color of her eyes :)

Report and more pictures from Kim. "
sky saying hi.. and eating.. she   ate twice the  amount she usually does tonight.. and she is getting  stronger.. she can climb out of this little bed she is using..somthing she couldnt do yesterday..so far so good.."

Shane and I went to the pet store earlier today to get fish food and they had a kitten there that looked almost exactly like Sky, eyes weren't as blue but we sat and played with it for half an hour - we're not excited, no, not at all. Almost got a litter box today too but talked myself out of it. Project tomorrow is we're going to build one of those scratching post tree house things that are covered with carpet - we have some scrap lumber and pieces of carpet that will work great :)

When I first saw this picture it broke my heart, not a very good new mother am I to not be the one taking care of my little baby. Then I realized the Lord blessed us double. 1st giving us the kitten we've longed for for so long and 2nd giving us Kim to care for her until we can. Not only praying for Sky's health tonight but asking for special blessings to come Kim's way.

Sky ate some moist cat food tonight. After the formula Kim give her a teaspoon of the mushy canned stuff and she wolfed it down. That is a good sign. She wasn't interested in it yesterday. She is maturing fast. Thinking she will make it if she doesn't get phenomena or diarrhea. That is what most young kittens die of.
Today she got to walk around a bit. She will venture out a ways then waddles back Kim. And she is getting playful. Last night she was pawing at Kim's hair. Kim is giving her lots of attention so she'll be a good pet and also trimmed her front toenails today. They are so sharp her claws poke Kim when she goes for her milk. Kim will try introducing her to the litter box to her after her wounds heal, didn't want her getting grit in them.

Today Sky hasn't wanted to eat as much. Kim has been giving her some soft cat food too so that might be why. The weather is damp and rainy and she acts like her leg bothers her more today. She has sneezed a couple times this evening. She made a rice sock, warmed it in the microwave, then put it under Sky's bedding. She snuggled right up to it and started sucking on the fleece. She is cute.

Sky is okay today. As you can see in the one she is eating. Her belly is nice and round. Today she was pretty playful. The one with the brush she was hiding behind it from me. Then she would run out and her backside would go faster than her front and she would trip over herself. lol and the one with the dog, she doesn't seem to be afraid of them.. I have to watch lacy. She wants to play with her and being of collie breed she likes to use her feet...but sky just wants to nurse on her. Anyway today she seems fine is eating pretty good. After the motrin she seemed fine. I have been keeping her rice sock warm especially during this wet damp weather, seems to be the trick.
