To Teach The BIBLICAL Doctrine Of The Trinity
There Is One God
Who Eternally Exists
In Three Distinct Persons:
God the Father
God the Word (Son)
And God the Holy Spirit

I. There is Only One
God
A. Deuteronomy 6:4
Hear, O Israel: The LORD
our God is one LORD:
B. Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one
baptism...
C. Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King
of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I
am the
first, and I am the last; and beside me there is
no God.
D. Isaiah 44:8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid:
have not I told thee from that time, and have
declared it?
ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside
me? yea,
there is no God; I know not any.
E. 1 Corinthians 8:4 As concerning therefore
the eating of those things that are offered in
sacrifice
unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in
the world,
and that there is none other God but one.
F. Galatians 4:8 Howbeit then, when ye knew
not God, ye did service unto them which by nature
are no gods.

II. The Bible makes
it clear there is only one God; yet
He is Spoken of in
Plural Terms in Many Scriptures
A. "Let us", "our image",
"our likeness", One
God plural persons- Genesis 1:26 And God said,
LET US make
man in OUR image, after OUR likeness: and let
them have
dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the
fowl of the
air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth,
and over
every creeping thing that creepeth upon the
earth.
B. "His own image" singular for one
God-
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image,
in the
image of God created he him; male and female
created he them.
C. Genesis 3:22; And the LORD God said,
Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know
good and
evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and
take also of
the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
D. Plural "let us"- Genesis 11:6-7 And
the
LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they
have all one
language; and this they begin to do: and now
nothing will be
restrained from them, which they have imagined to
do. Go
to, LET US go down, and there confound their
language, that
they may not understand one another's speech.
E. Matthew 28:19; Baptism in the name of God
(singular " the name" for the THREE
UNITED PERSONS AS GOD)-
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing
them in
THE NAME of the Father, and of the Son, and of
the Holy
Ghost:

III. We know Only
God is the Creator of Everything and
yet each person of
the Triune Godhead are given credit for Creation.
A. Father God as Creator
1. Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God
created the heaven and the earth.
2. Acts 17:24-30 God that made the
world and all things therein, seeing that he is
Lord of
heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made
with hands;
(25)Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as
though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to
all life,
and breath, and all things; (26)And hath made of
one blood
all nations of men for to dwell on all the face
of the
earth, and hath determined the times before
appointed, and
the bounds of their habitation; (27)That they
should seek
the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and
find him,
though he be not far from every one of us:
(28)For in him we
live, and move, and have our being; as certain
also of your
own poets have said, For we are also his
offspring. (29)
Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we
ought not
to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or
silver,
or stone, graven by art and man's device. (30)And
the times
of this ignorance God winked at; but now
commandeth all men
every where to repent:
3. Isaiah 63:16 Doubtless thou art our
father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and
Israel
acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father,
our
redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.
B. Jesus the Word as Creator
1. John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the
Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
God.(2)The
same was in the beginning with God. (3) All
things were
made by him; and without him was not any thing
made that was made.
2. Ephesians 3:9 And to make all men
see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which
from the
beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who
created all
things by Jesus Christ:
3. Colossians 1:14-17 In whom we have
redemption through his blood, even the
forgiveness of sins:
(15) Who is the image of the invisible God, the
firstborn
of every creature: (16) For by him were all
things created,
that are in heaven, and that are in earth,
visible and
invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions,
or
principalities, or powers: all things were
created by him,
and for him: (17) And he is before all things,
and by him
all things consist.
4. Hebrews 1:1-3 God, who at sundry
times and in divers manners spake in time past
unto the
fathers by the prophets, (2) Hath in these last
days spoken
unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir
of all
things, by whom also he made the worlds (3) Who
being the
brightness of his glory, and the express image of
his
person, and upholding all things by the word of
his power,
when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down
on the
right hand of the Majesty on high;
5. 2 Peter 3:5 For this they willingly
are ignorant of, that by the word of God the
heavens were of
old, and the earth standing out of the water and
in the water:
6. Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we
understand that the worlds were framed by the
word of God,
so that things which are seen were not made of
things which
do appear.
C. Holy Spirit as Creator
1. Genesis 1:2 And the earth was
without form, and void; and darkness was upon the
face of
the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the
face of the waters.
2. Psalms 33:6 By the word of the LORD
were the heavens made; and all the host of them
by the
breath of his mouth.
3. Job 26:13 By his spirit he hath
garnished the heavens...
4. Job 33:4 The spirit of God hath
made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath
given me life.

IV. Only God is
Omnipotent (All powerful); Each Person
of the Godhead is
given this Attribute in Scripture
A. The All Powerful Father is God
1. 2 Corinthians 6:18 And will be a
Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and
daughters,
saith the Lord Almighty.
2. Luke 1:37 For with God nothing
shall be impossible.
3. Revelation 19:6 And I heard as it
were the voice of a great multitude, and as the
voice of
many waters, and as the voice of mighty
thunderings, saying,
Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
B. The All Powerful Son is God
1. Jesus is God - called the Almighty
God, who was, who is and who is to come:
Revelation 1:8 I
am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending,
saith the
Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to
come, the
Almighty.
2. Revelation 4:8 And the four beasts
had each of them six wings about him; and they
were full of
eyes within: and they rest not day and night,
saying, Holy,
holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is,
and is to
come.
3. Revelation 11:17 Saying, We give
thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and
wast, and
art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy
great
power, and hast reigned.
4. 2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto
me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my
strength is made
perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I
rather
glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ
may rest
upon me.
C. The All Powerful Holy Spirit is God (The
Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God)
1. Job 33:4 The spirit of God hath
made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath
given me life.
a. Psalms 51:11 Cast me not
away from thy presence; and take not thy holy
spirit from me.
b. Isaiah 48:16 Come ye near
unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in
secret from the
beginning; from the time that it was, there am I:
and now
the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
2. Zechariah 4:6 Then he answered and
spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the
LORD unto
Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power,
but by my
spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
3. Judges 14:6 And the spirit of the
LORD came mightily upon him, and he rent him as
he would
have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand:
but he told
not his father or his mother what he had done.
(Spirit of
the LORD came mightily- the Holy Spirit giving
him the
supernatural strength of God)
4. Judges 15:14 And when he came unto
Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and
the spirit of
the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords
that were
upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with
fire, and
his bands loosed from off his hands.
5. Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is
upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach
the gospel to
the poor; he hath sent me to heal the
brokenhearted, to
preach deliverance to the captives, and
recovering of sight
to the blind, to set at liberty them that are
bruised,
6. Power of the Holy Spirit IS the
power of God; 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 And my speech
and my
preaching was not with enticing words of man's
wisdom, but
in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: (5)
That your
faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but
in the
power of God.
a. 1 Corinthians 12:13 For by
one Spirit are we all baptized into one body,
whether we be
Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and
have been
all made to drink into one Spirit.
b. 2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the
Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the
Lord is,
there is liberty. (18) But we all, with open face
beholding
as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed
into the
same image from glory to glory, even as by the
Spirit of the Lord.

V. Only God is
Omnipresent (Be Everywhere
Simultaneously -
Created beings can not be in every place at
the same time.)
A. Omnipresent Father
1. Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the LORD
are in every place, beholding the evil and the
good.
2. Proverbs 5:21 For the ways of man
are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth
all his goings.
B. Omnipresent Son
1. Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to
observe all things whatsoever I have commanded
you: and, lo,
I AM WITH YOU ALWAY, even unto the end of the
world. Amen.
a. Jesus declares He is in the
midst of every gathering of believers in His name
yet He is
at the same time He is seated at the right hand
of the
Father; Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are
gathered
together in my name, there am I in the midst of
them.
2. Hebrews 10:12-13 But this man,
after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for
ever, sat
down on the right hand of God; (13) From
henceforth
expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
3. Galatians 4:6 And because ye are
sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son
into your
hearts, crying, Abba, Father. (Jesus can only be
in every
believer at the same time because he is
omnipresent and only
God is omnipresent)
4. John 14:23 Jesus answered and said
unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my
words: and my
Father will love him, and we will come unto him,
and make
our abode with him.
C. Omnipresent Holy Spirit
1. John 14:17 Even the Spirit of
truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it
seeth him
not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he
dwelleth
with you, and shall be in you. -( In who? In
every believer
at the same time.)
2. Psalms 139:7 Whither shall I go
from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy
presence?
(8) If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there:
if I make
my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
