Faith Only's
Wedding Planner Section
for Brides on a Budget Help Tips and Checklists
As my daughter and I delve into
the process of planning her own wedding
I decided it could possibly save others a lot of
time if some of the information we compiled was
made available for others. So, whilst in the
middle of planning Valerie's special day I am
also adding several new pages to ByFaithOnly.
I will warn you - we are working on a very tight
budget yet like most young ladies Valerie wants
the fairy tale picture perfect wedding. What
bride doesn't want to look like the princess she
is on "her day"? OK gentleman it is
your day also but over the years I have seen far
more grooms who could care less about flowers,
dresses, who does what, and when than those who
really get involved. "Get me to the church
on time" is the more common attitude and
only priority.
No funds for a bridal consultant for this wedding
so this section is really geared for the "Do
It Yourselfers" like us out there Not
that others can't get some ideas or use many of
the checklists available. I pray you will enjoy
your visit and God willing we will have many
lovely weddings in the future
Please feel free to print or copy anything you
find here that could be useful in planning your
own wedding, or helping a
daughter, friend, or anyone else plan theirs.
There are no fancy pictures here - just straight
information. Currently I do have a ton of other
information I've collected here, there, and
everywhere so if you have a question and don't
find it here feel free to email me, Faith Draper,
and I'll check my files to see what I have faiths.business@yahoo.com
As time permits I will add more! Also, if you
have a money saving tip or other information that
could help others please please share with us
because we've had so many problems with
guestbooks and message boards I would ask that
you email your information to me and I will post
it here, giving credit to the originator...
My very first tip if your working without a
consultant particularly is to make a small
investment of about $5. Purchase one of those
inexpensive folders, one with the side pockets
and 3 whole paper holder (79 cents for ours), and
a package of sheet protectors (got a package of
10 sheets for $1 at the dollar store)... When you
print off sheets stick them in a sheet protector
and place that in the folder. Yes, it means
taking the sheets out when you want to check off
something or write in something but believe me -
you will page through these sheets a million
times before wedding day and the sheet protectors
are well worth the investment... Don't tell my
daughter but after her wedding I'm going to cover
her folder to match her wedding colors and give
it to her as a keepsake... Take the folder with
you when shopping or going to appointments such
as meeting with photographers and such... Any
pamplets or such you get you can stick in their
own sheet protectors or in the pockets until you
get home to re-organize...A three ring binder
will work too but those are heavier and bulky -
the folder just fits in my purse so easy to take
with us...
