Finding
the Reception Site
| Finding
the right reception site or caterer doesn't have to be
hard.
Just follow a few simple tips, after doing your
research in local wedding magazines, bridal shows and on
the Internet you need to schedule appointments and see
the site for yourself. Never pick the location by price
alone. Some locations may seem pricey and some less
expensive. If a location quotes a lower price it might be
because it isn't in a good location, doesn't have tables,
chairs, dance floor, kitchen or ample parking or
bathrooms. Maybe the price quoted is only for the room
and doesn't include setting up, cleaning up or other
items. Just make sure you know what is and what is not
included. Ask a lot of questions. Here are a few questions to ask or think about when selecting a location or requesting a quote: Do they supply tables, linens, chairs, and dance floor if you need one? Does the location look great already or will you have to bring in a lot of decorations to make it look the way you want? Can you bring in your own alcohol (less expensive) or do you have to buy it from them? Do they setup and clean up the area as part of the fee. Will there be someone available to accept deliveries ahead of time. How big is the kitchen? If youre bringing in your own caterer this is important. You might want a seated dinner for 100 people. If their kitchen is small and poorly equipped you'll need to change your plans or your location. Can the location seat all your guests and still have room to walk, dance or mingle. If it rains or it is cold, can everyone get inside and be together. Is it air- conditioned? Heated? Make sure everything that has been discussed is in the agreement before you sign it. |
